Default cj-7 spring over question

Hi,
I currently have a 85' cj-7 with a 2.5" lift and 33's. I actually just got a dana 60 and a dana 44 and want to do a spring over with the same springs. I was just wondering about how much lift would I get and if any one could recommend a good tire size. I want to go with a Bogger and one of my buddies said that the 38.5x11 would be a perfect size. But, any input would be greatly appreciated.

a spring over kit should net you a good 4.5" of lift... somewhere around a 39 should be a great tire size... if you're rubbing your 33's now at full flex i'd say a 38.5 inch tire.. if there's plenty of space at full flex with your 33's now, i'd say you could got with 40's... good luck

Here is my 86 CJ. Got 4" lift springs and a SOA. I currently have 35's on the thing.

Measure the thickness if the axle housing + thickness of stacked leafs = lift added to current 2.5. My 85 got 4 inches with original sprongs on SOA conversion. 38"s for muddin should be ok but dont rock crawl!

You'll get tons of rub with the extreme flex and 38, just make sure you do use a 2.5 soa.

i ahve a SOA on my 83 with 4in lift and 2 in body
i run 33s no issues and moving up to 36s this spring
however with that i am also going to swap out my axles
and i,m going to reverse the SOA.to a SUA. to much hight
i would rather trim and fit my 36s and keep a better stance while on the rocks
a 60 rear has a big pumpkin.. so you need 38s to even think of crawling with it
i would think 40s would be better..
go with flaty fenders and a littler trim.. and skip the SOA and go with a good 4in
lift with 2 in body..
with a SOA there is a need to either drop your TC which is couter productive or add extra cost for a SYE, break lines, new drive shafts, etc...

Just my opinion...
