Dana 300 rebuild
I need to pull my D300 for rebuild. The shift rails are froze and there is no power transfer from the trans to T-case.
Any tips ??
Oh yeah, 81 CJ5, SR4 trans and D300

Could be a number of different things. I would just pull it out and drain the oil. Crack the case open and check out the guts. Could be an issue with the input shafts or the case could be bounded up in neutral.
If you're going to go for a full rebuild, I recommend going with a Novak kit:

They're very helpful and be sure to read the instructions and how parts need to come out and go in.
It's one of the easier things I've rebuilt, IMO. You'll need a good press.
edit: If your shift rails are froze, your linkage may just need to be taken apart and cleaned up. Happened to me a few times. Sounds like your case in stuck in neutral if there is no power transfer. You can support it with a jack, drop the skid plate, drain the oil, drop the bottom pan and inspect it if you really don't want to pull it out. But for any major work, it would be better to pull it out and work on it on a bench.
