Jeep CJ-7 swap mit post-Euro 3 motor
Hey everyone,
I recently got myself a Jeep CJ-7 and was wondering if anyone here has any experience or knowledge about engine swaps using modern engines that meet post-Euro 3 standards (european regulations). I'm based in Spain and haven’t been able to find much clear info on the topic so far.
Any info, experiences, or references, whether from Spain or elsewhere in Europe, would be super helpful. I’d really appreciate it if anyone has done something similar or knows about it.
Thanks a lot!

The big question is does the engine need to match cuyrrent year CJ-7 standards or does it have to meet 2025 standards? If the latter then I know they have gasoline Chev trucks over there so recommend the 5.3LT engine and 8 or 10 speed auto (8L90 or 10L90). The transmissions have a separate external computer. That engine is pretty good on fuel consumption and is probably better than the stock CJ7. Why I recommend the Chev engines is because they have the fuel mileage and they are also way lighter (440lbs) than the Dodge products.
