selling my jk for an older jeep. LOOK
The renegades definitely look classic on the road, and I'm sure you have a pretty solid bond with it. I guess you have to think about how much life is left in the '86, and how much you'd get for either. Honestly I'd need to see a picture of both to make a final decision
haha.
haha.
As it is tho.....I don't have this problem cause I do have 72' CJ5 w/ 304V8. All I need to do is rebuild the tranny and it's ready for the mud. I say the "mud" because it sure as hell ain't a highway rig.
well i can tell you i could sell my jk w/out a blink. if i still had my yj and i would have had a choice of keeping it i would have never got rid of it.

Not knowing your circumstances I say keep it. It seems I see former owners of older Jeeps that now have JK's and they wish they'd kept the old iron around to thrash on, restore or just to drive in good weather. If you can wait a year and then see what you want to do. Just a thought
I have an '86 Laredo. Absolutely love it. Currently I am building a '08 4 Door Rubicon for my sister. So far I have spent 20K on the Rubicon. Still have a few things left to do. I love the JK's very much but with my CJ being in such amazing shape I dont think I could ever sell it. I am on my 3rd Jeep. 2nd. CJ7. It is built very well for trail use and I know if I sell it there would be no going back to CJ's because I dont have the time to invest in another CJ like I did in this one. I wish they would have done the flat dash with big center speedo in the JK's for some retro look. With having a family with 2 kids the JK would be perfect. My CJ is probably worth 20K give or take and I know right now my wife would say, "You want a JK go get it, but the CJ has to go." I just cant do it. The CJ is semi-retired. My sister's JK will be done in about a week and it is gonna be very tough to give her the keys to that monster. Talk about bittersweet.
