Default Tj flares on a cj?

I have seen some different cj's with tj flares. How hard is it to do?

I put the flares from my '98 TJ on my '82 Scrambler. It wasn't too hard to do at all. I put the flares up against the Jeep as a template and marked where I wanted to cut. After cutting, I put them up again and marked the mounting holes. It worked out nicely, but the front flares didn't quite match the contour of the front fenders.

Not too difficult. I basically did just like Renegade did.

Bushwacker TJ pocket flares on a CJ7 or CJ8 can be pretty easy, although I hated them on my CJ7 because they were too hard and fragile. The biggest problem folks run into (especially with a shorter CJ such as a CJ5 or under) is that the flare mounting runs into the inner wheel well so you have nowhere to screw. A buddy put TJ flares on his CJ5 but had to cut and relocate part of the inner fender.

Back before there were all the fancy plastic flairs we used the rubber edging/molding for walls were the walls met the carpeting. They have a built in edge curve and we screwed them to the fender edging with a metal strip over the rubber edging.

Kept us legal with the coppers, was flexible, not likely to get torn off and inexpensive if it did.
