Why, Dear God, Why?
LOL - that's not frustrating to me at all. That's actually a fully restored stock 1950 DJ-3A Surrey made when Jeep was run by Kaiser, and not some modded out rig. I think they were marketed heavily in Hawaii for tourism. FWIW, I think the "rat-rod" in my original post is waaaaaayy cooler than this even though the surrey suits my preference to go more to stock.
I don't know why some people are getting so bent out of shape about my comments. I'm just saying that I couldn't take a '45 Willys and rod it out like that. I also have a 1968 Ford Mustang Coupe and have been a Mustang fan for as long as I can remember. I once went to a Mustang show and saw a 1969 Mustang Fastback 4x4 with what had to be on 40"+ tires. I remember thinking aaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhh! Why would anybody do that? I think I was 14 at the time.
To each their own, this I understand, but sometimes I think it can go to far sometimes, that's all.

Don't get me wrong fella's, it is VERY cool looking and all. I would love to take it for a test drive too. I'm just saying that it seems like a travesty to be able to take such an iconic vehicle and freak it out like that. Personally, if I found a 45 Willy's that was in good enough condition I'd go for the full restoration. But that's just me.
For example, there is a guy in my Jeep club who grew up with a 1965 CJ-3B (Below) that he fully restored. That's what I'm talking about.

This is right !
Here is the story and parts list on it:

Its not like he took a willys and made it into this at all. He took alot of other parts, and aftermarket parts, and made it look like this.
Major quotes from the story:
"It looks genuine, but the tub is actually a fiberglass replica with the rear tub floor filled in between the tops of the rear wheel tubs."
"Speaking of that windshield, it's one of the only genuine Willys components in the rig."
He is just a jeep guy that wanted a Vintage Jeep style/themed, rat/hot rod. I give the guy props on his creativity.

So it's not even a real Jeep body. Suddenly it's OK, I guess.
I don't understand how people who modify their own Jeeps would even think of dictating what someone else should be able to do with theirs.

I read that article-talk about fabrication! And you gotta admit that would be a blast to drive to the stop and go on a sat night... And the surreys are interesting, most of them were two wheel drive werent they? Youd rent a beach house or hotel room and get to use one to drive around, great idea for people who fly to vacations, too bad they dont offer stuff like that anymore
