I have a 2000 TJ and when I shut off the engine it sounds like a diesel. Does anyone know how to fix this problem.

 

:i have an 01 tj.same thing sounds like a box of rocks. its the transfer case.push clutch in and shut of.is the noise still there ? jeeps fix is a new lever for transfer case.it helps a little but not much. mine still makes noise.more when warm. hope this helps.if you find more i would like to know.
