Default JK Rubicon wheels/tires on a stock TJ Sport

We have a set of JK Rubicon wheels/tires and are wondering about the possibilities of putting them on a stock TJ Wrangler Sport. We are aware that the bolt pattern is different and that we would need a 5x4.5" to 5x5" spacer adapter. However, we are not sure if it will require a lift or not to avoid rubbing. Thanks!

I THINK you can fit the 32" tires on there. If possible, I would suggest pushing one up to the current spot to see if it will.

31's will fit without any major rubbing. 32's will rub during flex, and full lock turns. You can partially remedy the steering rub by shimming the steering stops, but your best bet is to get a 2" budget boost (coil spacers). Then they won't look cramped, and you won't have any issues. a BB can fit 33's just fine on a TJ as well.

Bumping this thread because i have a related issue. My 16 year old nephew just got his license earlier this year and got his 99 TJ Sport out of the moth balls. It's been in storage since 2000, he was 4 years old and the proud owner of a brand new TJ. 15K miles on it!

He made some pretty darn good money working for his dad and grandpa this summer. So now he is ready for his first mods. I got him a Thrush muffler and he installed a K&N filter. I digress...

Time to upgrade those little 27s. He wants to go with 31s. Is a BFG a/t ko 265/70/15 a good choice on his factory rims? How will this effect his mpgs? Better? Or worse? 3 speed auto trans. Also, we will change out the speedo gear.

I used to own a 98 TJ and put 31x10.5R15 tires on my stock Sahara wheels, the gray 5 spokes. It fit fine with no rubbing, I did have to adjust the strearing stops out though. I did not need wheel spacers or anything. Granted, I quickly learned that 35's are more fun and within a year I had sold the 31's.
