What parts does that protect?
To do work on the undercarriage, would it require taking the tummy tucker off?

Sorry for the naive questions.

It protects you tranmission and transfer case. And yes, to get to either of those you need to fully remove the skid, and support you tranny with a jack. If you are looking for convience check out the 33 degree engineering belly up skid. It's a 2 piece design, that comes with a crossmember and a skid that attaches below it. Here's a link.http://www.offroadtoystore.com/Merch...nsfercaseSkids
Have it, love it, SYE kit is a must with a new driveshaft, I have cut parts out of it for long arm kit and exhaust. Hands down a no bull stout piece of armor. Note that you may have to dimple the floor if you do not have a body lift, kiss that t-case drop goodbye.
