Spider LJ
Question on your belly up. I have a 2005 LJ Rubi with what looks like a 4 maybe 3.5" lift (bought it that way). I still have the factory skids on it and get hung up everytime! Rubi T-case already comes with SYE in the rear. Did you have to do any mods to instal the Teraflex tummy tuck kit? What came with the kit and if you don't mind me asking, how much was it?
Hi and sorry for the late response. We had to modify the tub to clear the skid. or you can add a 1" body lift and have no problems. I don't really remember how much I paid but i'm sure you'll find the price on the Teraflex website
i'm suprised that the factory never had a different color than white! it's freakin ugly with a white interior!
I think they made the inner hard tops white to help with lighting the interior at night by using its reflective qualities.
Although I myself think of the white inner roof as a blank canvas to put artwork on
Some photos from the SNE.. It was a great research for all of us. All the routes have been plotted for future access. However, the I6 is not suitable for overland travel. yes it's an excellent motor and all but the fuel consumptions is the ultimate draw back. I have been in a few areas where I was low on fuel. (that's the reserve fuel). luckily we didn't have any big issues.
anyways, here are some pics for you to enjoy.

Here is the loaner JK from Jeep

45 miles offroad, 80mi remaining. We are getting a little more technical.

That day didn't end very well. We got locked down by the border patrol. they asked us to turn around and head back. it seems that 30km away from the Saudi/Jordan boarder is not far enough. so we had to take another route that we had as back up (it's always good to have a backup plan for remote travel like this). It got late at night and me leading the team and navigating, there was no way for me to take pictures. we showed up in Haqel sometime around 8PM. refueled the rigs and brought our water and food storage back to level. Here are some shots from the city in the early morning. you will notice that we are doing a quick repair on the tire of the JK. nothing bad just a quick patch to fix the air leak.

Here is Spider posing with Egypt in the background

Here is a Greek Sunk ship from 50+ years ago. that's literally sitting on the West coast of Saudi.

Driving from there, we reach our next stop. Ta'yb essm. Mountains and sea. doesn't get any better.

driving in

Not really used to finding palm trees in mountains, why not.

our fleet still holding strong

On the drive back we had to stop and observe the view.

Here we are early morning at camp site. this place also views Egypt, and is 15km away in a straight line. if not less

a few miles away we stopped by this US airplane. story has it that the retired General of the Air Force flew his plane and landed there. then had some issues and left it there. and so people here (given their really high education) decided to decorate it. this is at least 40+ years old. pretty cool finding.

Aldesah Mountain (one of the team's favorite stops)

Who said my LJ doesn't flex?

No better meditation then mother nature. My friend Saud showing us a fine example here

Water crossing.. in Saudi??? Yes!!

Time to hit the showers and head back to civilization. after a few days offroad and stopping for nothing but gas and food. we hit this hotel to clean up and go through our vehicles.
Hotel courtyard view

our vehicles checked good. recharged our batteries and sat phones. and here we are on day 6 of the expedition hitting a world class heritage location.

Saud showing us the scale of this tomb.

As an engineer, I have mad respect for those people who hand carved those tombs by hand, with nothing but basic tools. goes to show that if there is will, there will be a way. absolutely stunning!

one of my favorite shots

remember, they just had basic tools for this. Wow just wow!!
