My friend has a 88 yj that he's looking about lifting it. He's not going for looks just the cheapest way to do it or cheap way to do it

How high is he wanting to go with it? There are several options like shackle, spring over axle, body lift, and leaf springs. The choice would depend on what size tires or what his overall goal is for it.
