Driveshaft stock front

Stock front driveshaft. Boot in perfect condition. Plastic is cracked on joint at transfer case $50. Local pickup in Irvine only.

If the plastic at the joint is cracked, doesnt that mean the CV joint is bad? That is what mine is like now, and slinging a little grease. Not good.
