2 meter install
Finally mounted my Yaesu 2 meter mobile. It's a FT-1900R and the antenna is a Diamond 2meter/70cm (NR-770HA). The antenna mount is a Diamond K412S.
For power I ran direct form the battery with 2 inline fuses at the battery even though the power cord for the radio already has the positive and negative leads fused.
To get the power and the coax inside the cab I pulled the side panel behind the passenger air vent and poked a hole through the expanding foam. I got the idea from this write-up on Project-JK: Project-JK.com - Jeep JK Wrangler Resource » Affordable Jeep JK Wrangler CB Radio SolutionMidland Model-1001Z
The location of the radio doesn't get in the way of my feat or legs
The location of the antenna was good too. It's not an eyesore while driving and it does not interfere with the opening of the hood far enough to put the stick up that holds the hood open.
Diamond does make the same model antenna in black, but I already had this one.

What freq are you usually on when in the Jeep?
May have to see if we could do a QSO.
