Lol, I will check that out. Im prior service so Im pretty good with radio ediquette. The main reason I asked about CB's is because I know some groups require them and a CB can work pretty much all places my iPhone won't.. I like to venture out alone sometimes and if something happened I would like to have that CB.. (Rather have it and not need it)
If your new to both Ham radio and CB, I'd suggest you look more into ham radio, or the amateur radio service, as t is also known. A CB can be handy, but entry into the world of ham radio opens many more options, frequencies and forms of radio frequency-based communications.
You might start on the website www.arrl.org it is our biggest ham radio organization in the US, there you can ready about how to get your first ham radio license.
I started with a CB many years back and it piqued my interest in radio, but once I got into ham radio I never looked back!

Well, ham and cb are both just radio communications services. Neither is limited to home or portable/mobile use.
If you're interested in chatting on trails with rigs in your close-proximity, CB is great. If you're looking for a more flexible mobile communication system, ham is better.
