Okay guys, I have looked at a lot of the posts on swr #s, this that and the other thing.

I have the cooltech mount and the cobra 25 and a 4 foot firestick.

I have checked and rechecked everything for the instructions in the cooltech.

However no matter what i do my swr will not go below 4.

adjusted it up, down yadadada

anyone please?

are the grounds done correctly? 50% of the time goofy electronics can be traced to a bad ground.

ar you sure the meter is working properly.

Bad grounds can haunt you with CB/transcievers and the like.

If you own a Multi-meter ohm out the ground, it should be 0 or as near as possible. If you don't have a meter, good excuse to get one.

Test your cable to make sure there isn't a short somewhere. The new multi-meter will come in handy for this, too! Good luck, I got very frustrated when I installed my setup about a month ago and went through a couple of antennas, mounts, and cables, and added ground straps. It turned out I had two different issues -- an antenna that didn't want to tune, and a short in the cable that I created when soldering the connector.
