I'm waiting for my antenna, cable, and side mount, should be here today. I'm going with a 4' Firestik Firefly antenna with the Firestik side mount attached to license plate holder. I ran a solid copper 12AWG wire for the antenna ground through the LR tail light housing down to the rear brake line bracket bolt for good frame ground. i will run the antenna coax cable up through the wheel well grommet and under the carpeting in cargo area, across and down passenger side to glove box area.

I'll also run an external speaker cable from the CB control box to AUX jack on stock head unit if the sound quality of the handset is inadequate.

Didn't think about doing that with the radio... sounds like a plan to me.

Does the mic clip come with the cobra or did you buy it separate?

Yes clip comes with the CB. If you plan on running external speaker jack to stereo, look for a mono jack, i.e. tip/sleeve jack so you get both L/R speakers to work; I have a stereo mini din 1/8" cable but it only gets sound to left side, I'll have to find a mono cable too.

This just saved me about a week of research on cb radios. I now know what type of CB I want and where I'm installing it. Thanks man
