Antenna???
First off, you have two pieces there.

1 is the 3/8" x 24 threaded mount. 2 looks like a quick-release antenna base. With these antennas, you permanently mount a bit to the stud which is itself attached to the mount. Then you twist and remove/attach the antenna. Quick and easy.
You can remove the quick-release part and mount whatever aerial you wish to the 3/8"x24 stud, which is darn near anything CB and a wide variety of amateur radio antennas.
Cheers,
Bob

Looks sketchy. I'd pull all the crap off minus the quick release and purchase a firefly antenna and all new wiring. Just my 2 cents
FYI you don't have to ground the cable and there should be NO electrical tape what so ever.
Only pic I could find of mine

Buy Firestick brand stuff and the firefly is the best antenna for JK (straight from Firestick)
