You might try red loctite on the lower end of the threads, leaving the upper threads clear for contact. Using a couple wrenches will "keep the honest honest" but anyone who really wants it is going to get it.

I grew up in KY. I think I'd be a bit frightened to be grabbing things off a jeep. Usually that's followed by several loud bangs...

 

one loud bang usually does the trick. just in case, i think i will pick up some loctite tomorrow.
