You can open your window without first opening the tailgate? Maybe I'm missing something here, but that is impossible with my Jeep.

Purchase a Hanson bumper & carrier and the CB mount is built in.

here's the same mount as Hook-Em has, the nice thing is that the coax is completely inside the vehical. SWR of 1.2 to 1.4Click image for larger version

Originally bought the Cooltech gatemount setup but when I went to install, there wasn't enough room between the gate and my RR tire carrier. My buddy had a Teraflex mount and that couldn't clear either. So I took his Tera mount, drilled two pilot holes in the RR carrier and then mounted my antenna there. Has worked like a charm.

Hood mount is the best place for jeeps because they need a big flat piece of metal to bounce the radio waves off that's where mine is and it works better than all my buddy's with there's on the back

I also have a 4' Firestick, and found that if I installed it on the tire mount or the lic plate mount it would hit the garage door. I have off road bumpers and just drilled a hole, spray painted it with black flat (like I do after wheelin' into rocks and trees), the hole was positioned between the rear door 'when opened' and the taillight, so no interferrence, and the wire runs down and back up thru the back of the right taillight housing (remove same to access) and forward thru and under the side cab lip to the front - works like a dream!
