Cable from front CB radio to back antenna
So I am looking online and see a real cool setup. Has everything needed. But what I don't know is how to lay the cable from the cb radio at the front of the Jeep to the antenna at the back right in front of the spare tire. I have a JK unlimited with a Freedom Top. Is there a standard way to hide the cable all the way through?
With TORN's quidance, I ran mine along the center console (tucked it up from the bottom edge), then under the carpet in the backseat, then across to the right rear corner of the Jeep. Pull out the carpet on the right wall of the cargo area and located the wiring bundle that goes into the tailgate. Attach the coax to that bundle with zip-ties--not too tight because you don't want to damage the coax. Pull out the access panel that the bundle disappears under on the tailgate and continue following the bundle with the coax. Push it through the rubber grommet and out to your antenna.
Some hints:
1. Leave a few feet coiled up under the carpet in case you decide to move your antenna and need longer coax.
2. If you buy a pre-fabbed cable, cut off one connector. Replace it with a solder on connector (preferred over crimp connectors unless you have very expensive crimping tools--not the home owner's crimping tools!). Solder the center conductor with a soldering pencil, and the ground with a soldering gun. If you aren't a competent solderer, find one.
3. On our way to EJS, TORN's Jeep, which has a similar coax run, had the coax get cut right where it loops at the tailgate hinges. Just be cautious about your coax run in this area, and keep an eye on it over time.
Good luck!

Some of us don't have carpet (or do, and will eventually go to a Line-X'd interior). In those instances, you can run the coaxial through the sport bar padding and get where you need to go as well.
i dont have carpet, have herculiner, my CB lives in my center console, i ran the antenna wire through the bottom and out the right side, then bundled it to the wire loom under the front passenger seat and the cable follows the loom all the way to the right rear where i attached it to the tailgate limiting strap, through that long black plastic trim piece and then out through the rubber grommet that is behind the spare tire. then up to the teraflex antenna brakcet!
