can too much power from my radio mess with my Jeep computer
To answer your question, and will be brief so as to not take up too much room on this subject. Yes, the wife, and I discussed this last night, and her answer was NO. They have no time, and shortage of officers to worry about whether people run illegal equipment, and what trouble they may cause unless it is life threatning or involves drugs. I have been a "freebander" on the radio since the beginning of cb radio in the late 50's, and have met many great people who have become friends all over the world. I, and my wife studied for our ham tickets in the 80's, and again 3 years ago but everytime lost interest due to things we saw, and heard on the ham bands, and then the last time due to medical reasons which I am still fighting but enough on that.
I have no problem with people who have or go for their ham tickets, and in fact incourage it but for personal reasons is not for me. "different storkes for different folks".
I enjoy my radio my way, and enjoy helping others when they have problems hooking up their equipment, and do respect the radio in my way.
Hope this answers some of your questions, and will continue to helps others here if I can.
