Default CB Help in PA / NJ

Just got done about an hour ago with my Cobra 75 install. Looking for a shop or someone local to check the SWR's and my install before I key mic.

Located on Pa / NJ Central border. around Easton, Allentown, Pa. or Phillipsburg, Washingtn, NJ.

I did turn on the power and do get chatter on 19 and some other channels just don't want to mess this new radio up by not doing something right the first time.

The truck stop on rt. 78 (exit 7??) probably has a CB shop. You can try there. Or go to a Radio Shack and buy a swr meter, less than $20. Then you will have it to check again in the future. It's good to check the swr after your antenna has been hit by some branches, etc.

You would have to know how to tune the antenna, hopefully instructions came with it. Some have an adjustable tip, others you loosen a set screw in the base and actually adjust the length of the antenna. Whatever adjustment you do, only do very small adjustments and recheck the swr again.

Stoped over to the truck stop on 78 and they did not have a CB tech that worked there.

But I did get a name and number of a local guy that works on CB's and has been for years. The guy at the truck stop said they have always used him.
