Yesterday on the trail when I keyed my mike everybodys radios honked it was really funny but annoying, I unplugged the mike and repluged it and everything was OK for a while and started doing it again, luckily I had a handheld to save the day any ideas?

Are you only running 4 watts?

 

Exactactly as I said when I keyed my mike the other CB's honked, It's just a small Midland 1001z. Cheap enough I'll probably just buy another one, Ii lasted 3 years.

Sounds like your microphone is bad. If someone has the same radio try switching microphones and see if thats the problem. If it is, I'd recommend just replacing the whole radio as you'd spend as much on the mic alone.

I'm using a Uniden Pro 510 that I had tuned and for a small radio it really gets out.
