Hey, I saw that someone had mounted a CB on the over head of his Jk. I did the same and ran the cable to the tail gate and mounted the antenna on the thrid brake light. The only problem that I have had is first the antenna mount hit the back glass. So I had to trim it and the second is that now I can not use my rear wiper due to fact that the antenna is so close to the rear window. It is great if you are not using a hard top.

 

Have you checked out the cooltech mount. Seems to work and not interfere with the rear wiper

 

I had my CB mounted above my head on the soundbar/metal crossbar. Worked great, was out of the way, loved it. But... with the soft top, it got WAY too hot. Melted some stuff inside that I had to get fixed, and has not worked great since. I don't guess the hard top would heat up that bad? And maybe if it is not over the bar, and is under or on one of those mounts that run to the front it might not heat up that bad? Well, mine is now mounted on the console which gives the little lift to that that it needed anyway.
