CB Mounted on driver's side dash?
I will try to get a pic of what it looks like underneath the plastic trim cap. It was a very close fit. Yes the speaker on the bottom screwed up the compass, but as I posted in an other thread it will go back to normal. Mine took about 2 weeks to reset itself to the new magnetic field. It works just fine now.
I thought about mounting the CB radio on the side of the center console next to the passenger's seat but then I realized something. Since I have a 2-door, with the top up, I have to move the passenger seat up so people can get in the back. The seat moves up to 6 inches of the glove box and would smash the CB radio if it was located there. I could mount it on the driver's side but I know there will come a time when I need to get in the back and I might accidentally smash it by moving the driver's seat upwards towards the dash.
The driver's side center console would be a good location that's out of the way for thieves to see but I'll probably just mount it at the same spot as the write-up, above the rear view mirror.
I would mount it above the radio but I have the Daystar dash installed there.
It just shows you how creative Jeep owners are; we have limited space inside the Jeep, limited storage area too, but we can still find a way!

Well maybe not to the middle of the glove box, but to the bottom of the front dash. I just checked both seats on my Jeep and they both slide up that close. Enough room to fit your fist in between with a few extra inches. Either way, the seats move past the bolt location on the sides of the center console, where some people have mounted their CB radios.
