Hey guys new to the CB world so be patient with my. I just my cobra 19 and love it and it works great. My buddy has a Yj with the same radio and we have communication issues sometimes. I know it not my radio I'm almost certain it is his but sometimes he will attempt to talk and all I will hear is a loud whistling noise on my end. I'm thinking its a ground issue but could there be any other causes?

 

What did you tap into for a power source ? Also make sure your mounting set up looks like this. If you are tapped into your cigarette lighter it could be feedback and I would recommend running a line directly to your battery.

 

Check ground on both antenna mounts. What's the SWR readings on both radios?

 

Not sure what his is, mines about 2.5 on both 1 and 40
