Default Conra 75 question

I will be installing a cobra 75 CB in my JK in the next couple of weeks. I have a question:
Since I heard that it will be better to have an extra speaker with the cobra, can you connect to the aux of the car stereo as an external speaker? The cobra manual says that you can connect any external speaker handling at least 4 watts. Will it be possible?
With this solution I can hear the CB at will and not have to install a separate speaker since, as you well know, space can be an issue.

I have linked it through my radio and it does work but I listen to music when I'm out. I have it wired to a small speaker above my mirror now. It sounds great I previously used a hook type clip to hang it on the header bar. But the external speaker works great.

Which speaker are you using?

I have an icom SP-10 i used to have on my boat. Any external speaker that's low wattage will work. Just make sure it has the same plug you would use in your radio. Radio shack has had some in the past, you can pick them up almost anywhere.. uniden used to make one with a powered volume control for more boost to the signal.

I have an aux speaker installed in the sound bar above my head. Works perfect.

Like said above, this will work just fine. And you can unplug the CB from the aux jack if you want to listen to the radio. The bad part is the CB is "smart" and if there's a plug in the external speaker port in the remote box it prevents audio from going to the handheld speaker. So to hear your radio and the CB you'd have to disconnect the cable at both ends, which is usually a PITA because of where we mount the remote box. So technically works but not really practical.

Thank you, it is now all clear. At this point I will try to install a 3x3 speaker inside the sound bar as I read in another thread.
Anyone has a suggestion of speakers of this size? (radio shack no longer sales them)
