Default Coupling 2 Coax?

Question, my mini 8 coax barely reached to my glove box when I put in a 75wxst. I just swapped that out for a Uniden 880 and I'm looking to put it somewhere else that would require a longer coax. Can add another 3-6ft of mini-8 coax cable and use a coupling? I got all the slack I could out of that cable from the tailgate. My SWR was perfect with the first install.

Yes OK to add more. You will get a little loss due to the coupling but not much.

Just add what you need don't go too overboard.

Thanks, I just plan on adding a short cord. I just heard that you shouldn't go over 18'.

Yeah that coax length thing gets argued to death sometimes. There is no magic in the length of the cable.

Just use what you need to get from the radio to the antenna. If you have extra cable try not to coil it up, instead randomly loop it.

PL-258 will make the connection between two lengths of terminated coax cable.
