For those that want to have an easy two meter set up you may want to try this. I have several hand held radios that I use (mostly a Relm 7500) with a WW Associates battery eliminator.

The battery eliminator attaches to the radio in place of the battery and plugs into the 12v receptacle. That way you don't have to worry about batteries dying on you during a long trail ride or multi-day trip. You can also remove the radio when not needed.

They have models for just about any ham 2-Meter or dualband radio you can think of and most commercial radios as well.
