I need to get a CB for a trail ride at the end of the month, so I've narrowed it down to these. Cobra 18 WX or Uniden PRO538. Weather channels is a requirement, and small(er) size is required. (Yes, I know about the Cobra 75, but money is too tight right now.)

Which one is preferred? I'm probably mounting it on the side console, beside the shifter. Haven't decided which side, yet.

 

I have the Cobra 18 because I liked the single DIN size. It looks like the difference seems to be the channel scan on the Cobra 18 versus the PA and built-in meter on the Uniden. If price is a factor the Cobra might be less expensive.
