Default A Few Questions

I just installed my Cobra 75 and can get a little reception. The weather comes in fine. I just hear little or no chatter. I have not tuned the firestick yet. Is it operating properly?

Have you checked you SWR with a meter? Mine is tuned properly and unless theres someone chattering it would seem no ones there at times. If your CB side is extremely quiet all the time you might need to check your antenna. If you live near a freeway a truck driver will usually respond to a radio check. A cheap investment is a SWR meter, I've had mine for over ten years but have probably only used it 4-5 times. That thing alone will assure proper tuning and keep your finals from frying

A final is the transistors that allows it to transmit. You could have a bad radio if your hearing talk. I ike the idea of the 75 but they are mainly good for trail rides and such. How did you mount your firestik?

Thats all I would use it for I mounted it with the LL Cool Tech Ultra mount. Very nice set up.
