For the past five months, I have spent most of my "HAM TIME" in the CERT world.
Here in San Diego County, we have quite a few HAMS who are also members of
local CERT Teams and we can participate in two to three 2 meter nets a week if we are so inclined. I am also getting ready for Field Day, with our first planning meeting in two days. Can't start too soon.

Yeah.....I found out years ago that computer aided radio just wasn't for me either. Never have been much of a computer person, and I barely know enough to get around as it is. I guess I just like one on one with the radio too much...

Not me. Probably should just like i should learn Spanish. In fact the only reason I hooked my radio to the computer was for it to translate code.

No. I've not done any dedicated mobile stuff in over 25 years. These days, my operating is in the form of dxpeditions or as a guest op during major contests.

Sounds good. With the WPX contest going 17m will probably be our best bet. I've never worked 17 so you got a couple freq you like? I'm around/free all day after 9a pacific.
