I've had great results with the MIDLAND 75-822. Works good on the road, trail, and handheld out of the Jeep. I jumped out of the Jeep and used it as a handheld spotting for some guys on a long climb. Nothing but positive results so far.

Got any pics of the install? How does it sit on the mic bracket?

I hang mine off a wire hook from the center of the roll bar. I also hang it above the rear view. There's a belt clip on the back of the radio. There are pictures posted somewhere on here. I'll have to dig around.

The Uniden510 or 520 is a great little radio andit is easily mounted on the center console.

Here's some pictures. I like being able to remove it since my jeep sees overnight parking in Philly, Queens NY, and Woodbridge VA. When it's hanging from the center roll bar it's plenty loud at highway speeds.

In the 3rd pic it's connectect to power and an external antenna through one connection. In the 4th pics it's ready for use out of the jeep.
