Hey guys I noticed something kind of odd the other day. I have a cobra 75 and I noticed that when I have the mic in my hand I'm able to hear people much more clearly than when its hung up. What's up with that? Has anyone noticed this before?

 

It may be a grounding issue. Just like when you touch the antenna on an old am radio and the signal comes in better. Or if it's the kind of mic that has everything in it, when you hang it up it could be picking up electronic noise from the jeep. Does the air noise/static pick up as well when you hang it up?
