looking to get a CB any ideas

This is the one I have and love it. Works fantastic with everything in your hand. You find a place to mount the mic and you just mounted the whole thing. Don't have to try to find a place to mount the radio where you can see it, don't have to worry about speaker position, etc. Why anyone would go with anything else i don't know.

I got a Cobra 75 package deal from Northridge. Good deal and nice radio and all but let's face it CB sucks - My little handheld Motorola FRS handhelds pick up WB just as well and have a further range then my CB - why hasn't the Jeep community embraced FRS over CB?

I read that in the United States the only legal FRS radio's are handheld, as opposed to vehicle mounted. That's a big limitation, IMO. If we had "mountable" FRS and could use decent antennas, mounted on the vehicle, I'd think everyone would embrace it.
Very small box that mounts under the seat. About the size of a deck of cards or smaller.
All the controls and readouts are in the handheld. All the guys in my club have normal CBs, and they all agree that mine is a great setup, expecially if you have limited space to get a good mounting location.
See how I have mine mounted, but now it is mounted a little higher than what you see here.

Oh, you can also simply unplug it and throw it in the glove box.
BTW...properly setting up your antenna is critical for good reception and transmitting. Guys who complain about reception don't have a good antenna setup. I went from a mag mounted to a good firestick properly set up and made a HUGE improvement.

I have the Cobra 75 and while it is small and compact, it does, or mine, has it's flaws. Driving down the road with the top off, it is hard to hear from the speaker. With the top and doors off, have to put it up to my ear to hear anything. The plastic on the cord is coming off. I have put black electrical tape around the cord to protect the wires on the inside. I plan on buying a full size CB when I make up my mind if I want the over-head console by Tuffy or figure out a way to mount the CB above the windshield mirror.

And for those who need range, get your ham license.
