Default midland 75-822 stock antenna

Curious about the midland 75-822. Trying to keep it real simple, don't ask. Most people seem to like the cb with a external antenna. I'm looking for a basic cb to talk on trails. Something that can be moved quickly to other vehicles. Does anyone have experience with the stock antenna? How bad is it? I Really dont need to go miles. Just wondering? Thanks for help.

I just picked up a pair of these. I figured I could always have one and then an extra. I haven't tested the range yet. I did go for the tailgate mount antenna from Cooltech. I will report more when i use them.

I use this CB in my Jeep with the CoolTech license plate mount and a 4' FireStik. If you rely on the Midland's "rubber duck" in-cab, you'll have very poor reception & broadcast range.
