Default Mounting a CB in my Jeep.

How did you mount your CB radio? I bought a little cheap one that has a simple U bracket. However, not sure where to mount it.

I was thinking to purchase a shelf that rests on the dash above the radio and mounting it to that. I have to see if I can find the shelf again and make sure it is hard mounted vs. tape or glue.

Where else can I mount the radio?

Show a few pictures for me if you will please. I seem to be a visual learner.

Thanks,
John

Do you think I could install this bracket and then bolt my CB to it?

Here is the way I mounted mine. The bracket is homemade and I used a longer bolt to mount it to the passenger side console using the existing bolt hole. Hope this helps.

Myrt,

Thank you very much. I keep forgetting about the Write Up section. I did get my antena mounted and tuned at the shop. I also ran the wire in from under the rear door, under edge of carpet, under trim inside bottom of door and now up behind the dash.

I will work on mounting it this weekend. I still need to find the power source. I will read the write up and see what I can learn.

Thanks all.

If you hit my signature (its a hyper link) i have my cb install. I include two hyperlinks for great detailed writeups. I got the power by poking through the foam on the passenger firewall and tapping into the M8 fuse with an add a fuse (ignition only activated). Good luck

Myrt,

I did use the write up page and installed mine. There was great information there.

I thought I posted a final shot in this thread, but guess I put it in the other.

Here is it.
