I mounted my mobile HAM radio to the center console using the existing bolt and original mounting bracket. Not only did it not require any drilling it's down out of the way and I use the mic to control it. If I wanted I could take the face and relocate it somewhere else and in that case under a seat would also be an option.

 

I like the Strike Force Zebra mount but I can't justify $25 on what it is. I will probably mimick that mount and fab my own.
