I'm looking for a way to get a over head console to mount a cb to. Don't want to spend a whole lot. Any suggestions would help

 

Does it need to be a console? Strike Force Zebra has a mounting bracket for above the rearview mirror.

 

I prefer a console like deal because I plan on using it for different stuff. Just don't want to spend so much on the tuffy.

 

What brand / model CB radio are you planning to use?

I just screwed mine in above the mirror with the supplied bracket from cobra

 

I agree. I have the SFZ one and it worked for my large radio (Uniden Bearcat 980) although I did have to shorten the mounting bracket a bit.

Before I installed my synergy cage I used a piece of 1 x 1" steel I bought at Home a Depot. Cut it to length, then cut about half of the width so it would fit under my top and then drilled a small hole and ran a self tapper into the top of the stock cage tube. Self tappers again to mount my CB bracket and done. Took it apart, sprayed it black, done. Worked perfectly.

 

I did this , and extended the mic cable so it comes out the bottom .
you really need the 90 for the antenna !
