Default Pics from My station

Pics from my station as a check in point for a covered bridge car run we had today.

We were operating on 2m SSB, 75m, 2m Simplex, APRS, and 2m repeater as a backup.

Took the door off to make it easier to get out and get car numbers as they passed and to keep them from ripping my door off.

You can almost see the 2m halo up there.

Glad to see you're taking advantage of your new mast set-up. I take it that it's working out well for you? What where you using for 75m...???

I wasn't running one but the stations that were (I'm only a tech) were using a low inverted v dipole about 100 ft on a tuner with a jumper able to be disconnected on each end to bring it in tune for 40m.

what event were you operating in....?

and that's a lot of effort for just having a Tech lic...
but I can relate.... all most. I built a backpacking yogi that fits in a tent pole bag, works pretty good...
It'll be interesting to see what you do when you get your HF ticket...

Hopefully have my General in the next month now that things have slowed down at work to study. I tend to go with the "if it's worth doing. it's worth OVER DOING" mantra.....

Why do you think I have a 3 wavelength 160m loop surrounding my 3 acres? When it comes to radio antennas......that mantra is a must...!!!

Oh and btw....from what I hear 10m has been open pretty good, and you do have some small phone privileges there. It's very simple to cut down an 11m mobile whip to use on 10.

I've been on and averaging 10 ish qso's a day. I use an opek HVT-400B as my main HF antenna ATM in the jeep and have a Home made 10m Inverted V for the house.

Just got my 30ft tower up at the house and wanna put a long inverted V up for once I get my general but kinda outta space so it might be an inverted L going across the length of the house and down parallel with my tower for the other leg.

I brew my own beer so that means something different to me. That means a whole another addiction in it's self. I have WAY too many enjoyable hobbies and not enough time.
