Default Question about Cobra 75

Hi,

I would like to install a compact CB that doens't require drilling, etc. I have read that the Cobra 75 is a good choice that allows for use of an externally mounted whip antenna such as a firestick. I like this idea more than the magnetic mount antennas used with some CBs.

Question 1: Does this CB come with channel scanning ability?

Question 2: Does this CB allow the power source to be the lighter? If not, are there any suggestions for an alternative CB that would perform, etc. the same but plug into the lighter for power?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Yes it scans, As far as power by your cigerett lighter I you can. It just may not preform the greatest. For trail use it will be fine. The firestick is a great tuneable antena.

some of us in our trail gang used zip ties to hook up the base under the glove box. there's a rod in there. then ran the wires thru the passenger side panel and thru the hole that has insulation, into the engine compartment and to the battery. i made my own mic hanger out of thin metal and it works great for me. got the firestix antenna and a quick disconnect. the antenna wire is simple to run thru the tailgate and up to the cb base. no drilling except to mount the mic. you could also fab your own mic hanger to mount on the stereo screw. just pop off the top of the dash first.

If you ask because you want to be able to unplug it when not in use then it comes with a quick disconnect to get it out of the way when not in use.
