How are the hinges on your swing gate holding up with the extra 18lbs of antenna on it? . Any squeaks or trouble shutting the gate? What tire size do you have on the gate too? My tire is a 35. Quite heavy.

Oh and one other thing. Your antenna is the 680 with standard (no extra cost) finish right. Not the shorty 680S right?

Mine is the 680S Shorty I wanted it to be below top height when fully retracted.

Standard finish.

Still stock tire and no problem with the hinges as the way I built it, it ties the hinges together to give more support where it bolts to the door.

Default mine on the way

Goldtr8,

So my scorpion is on the way and now Im working on a similar mount to yours. I have a few question however. I know you have the same diameter coil as mine 3". does that mean the whole tube is 3" in diameter? If so how big was the square platform the you mounted the quick disconect stud to?? Was it about a 4" X 4" square? And how big does the hole need to be that the threaded post bolts to on that plate? any help would be appreciated.

I like the mount you made.... I was thinking that type of mount would work nice for ham sticks also..

another idea for a better antenna mount/location..

nice setup.

Without going out and measuring the tube is about 3" and the coil cover is a larger diameter.

The flat plate was about 4x4. The hole size I do not remember, but I bought a hole saw to cut it.

Do you need some close up pics?
