This spot works perfect for a big ole Cobra.

Who uses the rear cup holders anyway?

Yes the lid opens all the way up.

Made this mount from a spare hunk of metal.

When not in use I just reinstall the cover and it disappears! I plan on installing one of toad's cb mic holders when the basement builders come around again. But until then I hang the mic over by the gauges... up and out of the way. Also the cb can be tilted down to get a better view of the front of the cb. And for you big cb guys,... there is enough room in there to hide one of those as well.... atleast as far as I can tell

Bought a mic holder bracket from Toad here are some pics

install pics and description for anyone interested

I had used a piece of scrap stock steel that I had laying around about 1" wide to help stiffen up the metal bar that is already there. I drilled 3 holes in the steel stock but only one in the original metal bar. So the only place where the cb actually bolts to the jeep is the one hole; metal washers on the other bolts help fasten them to the jeep's metal bar. Pics should be able to show you what I mean. Let me know if you have any questions.

any questions let me know

You can only see it through the rear passenger side window and that is tinted. Its pretty well hidden.

I am curious is the bracket comfortable or do you find it in the way? do you use it as a arm rest?

I think if I had a cushion on it I would rest my arm on it....

what does it actually mount to? was it easy to install?
