SWR turned to crap!
Two week-ends ago, I noticed my SWR had turned to crap. I figure there are two possibilities...
1- There's somekind of cut/short in the coax. I'm using fairly pliable thin-strand coax, but since the antenna is mounted on the tailgate, it gets folded a lot.
2- A little while ago I also snipped the wires on my PA speaker and left 'em there. I've yet to relocate the speaker and re-splice the wires. I'm waiting for a new speaker. Any chance the CB is detecting/using that circuit, even though the CB isn't set to "PA" mode?
All my grounds are A1, so I doubt that would be the problem. I'll have to sit around and diagnose this when it stops raining every day, but just wondered if my "PA speaker theory" held any water. What do you think?
BTW, this is a Cobra 29 WXNWST CB...
Thanks,
js.
