First I had to find a place to mount the base out of the way and as high as I could in case I flood the Jeep with creek water or a rain storm. Tried to fit it behind the glove box and found the glove box itself looked pretty good. So I laid it out and marked some holes and mounted the base in the glove box. Now I moved to a place to mount the face. I removed the panel above the radio and bent the metal mount over a large screwdriver so it would fit on the panel. The Panel is a daystar I think. Some of the paint flaked off when I did this, but a Krylon satin black quick dry paint took care of that problem. Then I ran the wires through the expansion foam behind the right dash side panel that just pops off. Using a thin long screw drive I taped the wires to the end and pushed them through. I did have to remove the fuse section and installed them back after the wires made it into the engine compartment. I then hooked the wires up to the batteries, which some will scratch their heads when they see the nightmare I created there. I assembled the Dash and ran the Ethernet cord up between the windshield and the dash. Ran the wires for the mic extension and external speaker under the dash console next to the firewall. I haven't found a good location for the mic or speaker yet. The speaker I tucked under the driver seat and the mic is laying on my parking brake handle. But the over all function and clean looks are pretty good so far. Just need to find a good location for the mic.
