I hooked up my cb and I get some traffic on the channels but def nothing major. I live literally right next to the interstate so I assumed I'd get a bit....when I transmit I get no replies. Built in SWR shows 1.00 for all channels. I tried hooking up a ground wire hoping that would help but when I do my RF and Antennae checks fail????? I remove the ground and everything checks okay. Not sure what's going on.... should I try buying a SWR meter and go off that rather than the built in? No sure...

 

Check you have grounding on the correct side of antenea mount. Buddy had this issue flipped mounting peices around and worked fine. He could hear a bit but noone could hear him.
