Another possible mounting location - the sound bar. I've got my radar (v1) mounted inside one of the big screw areas (I've got a soft top) on a custom mount. If you mount it in the passenger side hole and aim the display panel towards you, you might be able to clear the head of your passenger.

I've got the cobra 75 due to the lack of storage in the JK. Mounted the adapter/plug inside the glovebox, clean and out of view from grabby hands.

Can't understand why you wouldn't want it above the rear view mirror !!

It's the best/most visable/easiest operated/quickest "status" position, it's not in the way, you can't accidentally bump it, or hit it and doesn't interfere with the rear vision

Everone does it there and I don't want to look at it as I drive. I also keep the top down 24/7.

I decided not to use the U-Shaped bracket as well, what i did was take 2 strips of industrial strength velcro and stuck it where i wanted it... (see post #2). This way it can be taken out and laid on top of the Centre Console, and the fuse holder is accessible, and all wires can be disconnected in less than 2 mins. If you put it in the console, be sure to drill the hole a few inch's up from the bottom so eveything you put in dosn't fall down through.

If you don't have people in the back I bet you can mount it above the rear cup holders on the back of the console.

Or just stick it in the glove box with velcro on the bottom to keep it in place, run an external speaker to the foam part of the sound/roll bar, and you'll be set. Possibly run the mic wire through the corner where the glove box flex's a bit anyways, or around back... Just take the CB, attach the mic, then try putting it everywhere and see what you like best. Then run the wires and your off to the races.... or trails i guess
