Default Would this be a good setup?

I'm looking at getting a Uniden BC980 cb, with a firestick hood channel mount and a wilson 3' FGT Silverload Fiberglass Antenna. would this be a good setup? I would mount the antenna on the drivers side of my hood about 8 inches up on the hood channel. From what i have read it would be a good spot there because it would have a foot of clear air around it and 3' would get it up above my roof line. is this true?
