Default 2007 JKU stock Sub size??

Greetings,

I've searched high and low on this forum and others, but i just can't find the size of the factory installed stock subwoofer is. Any definitive answers?

I just purchased my 2007 Sahara and i'm looking in the process of upgrading my entire stock sound system, but i want to use my stock subwoofer enclosure, just upgrade the sub. Thanks in advance!

First of all congrats on the purchase. I have an 08 2dr Sahara and couldn't be happier.

I am not sure what dimensions you are looking for on the Sub, but it is an 8" sub and you will be hard pressed to find many options that are as 'slim' as the factory sub. I had to install a MDF spacer in between my factory enclosure and my new sub. I used some self adhesive foam on both sides to seal it up tight. In my opinion, just a sub exchange will not make a huge difference. You will want to add a second amp to power the new sub. I ended up adding a second amp with a line converter and couldn't be happier. You can check out my profile to see what I added to my system. The only change I would make would be to add some component speakers up front. Good luck with the front driver's side speaker. PITA!!!

Thanks! I appreciate the insight. I'm thinking of putting infiniti kappas in the dash and sound bar and a JL audio 8in sub in the stock enclosure. and older alpine amps running them. i'm lazy and don't want to go thru the hassle of doing myself, so i'm going to the experts and let them install it while i'm at work.

Thanks again for the help!
