Default 2008 Ambient light kit by Mopar

My o8 did not come with interior footwell lights. So I went online and found that Mopar has got an L.E.D.kit. My question is has anybody installed one of these and if so do you have any actual pics? Also pics of the the colors and intensity settings.

If you haven't a clue to what I'm talking about justforjeeps.com is the place where you can check it out.

Are you kidding me $231.00 for some LEDS and a dimmer! Not in my life time! I can buy everything to make that kit from radio shack for 20 bucks!

Thats a prime example of DC price gouging.

I just use my headlamp. This new petzyl is a modular type system, you can unclip the lamp from the headband and attach it to either a belt mount or a helmet mount. I just stuck the helmet mount on the center sound bar and keep the headband in the glovebox. It has 3 different brightness levels and a red filter which is nice at night, doesnt mess with your night vision. I bought mine at REI but heres a link i found for it online. <http://www.basegear.com/petzl-tactikka-xp-adapt.html>

Check out the called oznium for for 12V LED products. I haven't ordered anything from them yet but the feedback that they post (as opposed to teh ones that they don't) on their website is mostly positive.

I got to say that Oznium looks like the easiest set up to make a kit just like Chryslers. Except for a couple things Oznium's are 100% waterproof, expandable, brighter, less expensive. But the coolest part is you can add a sound controller and it will change color and move\pulse to the music.

I am going to look into some of these for a rock light set up!

I could get you a list of parts but you are going to need some experience with electronics and soldering to complete the setup. Oznium has pretty much made it idiot proof!
